Two Steps From Hell = Life Changing

"Our music is not sold commercially and is available for licensing only. As the style of the music is geared for movie trailers, some television and media markets, it is only available to music supervisors, editors and producers at our clients' workplaces. Given the state of the music industry at the current moment, we find that this is the most sensible model for us."

Hate that fact.

Only way I can get any of their albums or songs is by messaging all the guys on Youtube who seem to have them.

Oh yeah and in addition to the other movies I mentioned before they apparently made music for Pirates of the Carribean 2, X-Men 3, The Da Vinci Code, Lady in the Water, Over the Hedge, My Super Ex-girlfriend, Nacho Libre, Flyboys, Superman Returns, Flushed Away, The Guardian, Blood Diamond, Eragon, and so much more.

It was last night/technically morning-ish. 0300 hours. It was just me, my bed, a book, listening to my ipod, and nothing else. I had to put my book down listening to their music. There was no way I could read while taking in the utter richness of the music.

Two clips below so you can hear a bit, but trust me these aren't even the best ones.

I've posted a video of one of my two favorite pieces of theirs on my multiply

Today (Technically yesterday)

Today (well technically yesterday) was pretty darn great.

Interviewed for AIT, so that weight's off my chest.

Played a lot of bridge at school, plus saw friends there.

Played some Call of Duty 4 (which is totally, totally awesome).

And one other great reason, which I cannot specify at this time :).

And a special shoutout to Sheena, my first birthday greeter haha thanks Sheen, you made my day :)

Two Steps From Hell

"Two Steps From Hell was founded in February 2006. Although we have a decidedly devilish name, our catalogue continues to expand into a broad musical spectrum that is well suited for all genres of the motion picture advertising markets. We use renowned orchestras, choirs and musical talent from around the globe. All compositions are written by Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix in solar powered studios."

I only found out about them yesterday as I was viewing some videos on Youtube. Basically they make the music you hear in movie trailers. They've made music for such movies as Jumper, No Country for Old Men, WallE, Sweeney Todd, Beowulf, Spiderman 3, and Babel. As you can imagine, the music sounds pretty darn nice.

The only thing is, their music is incredibly hard to come by. I don't think they release their albums to the public. You won't be able to find anything on limewire or any torrents at all. Luckily I got a hold of one of their albums - Nemesis - via rapidshare compliments of a guy on youtube.

It sounds so amazing. It's dramatic and beautiful and everything you hear in movie trailers. Just tell me if you want it so I can give you the rapidshare link.

Because I haven't posted for so long

I didn't take my removal exam (see multiply blog) anymore. Because if the course that i'm gonna shift into doesn't need my math then I don't really need to, or need to be in a rush to resolve it. In any case there's another removal exam at the end of summer. Right now my life path seems to be leaning towards the tourism-then-studying-culinary track, which so happens to synergize fantastically with the food blog (coming out soon) that i'm a part of. I wouldn't exactly be bitter about film though. It might be a latta phan. :P

Profanity

Was watching Penn & Teller: Bullshit! on Youtube and heard this at the end.

When you really think about profanity, people aren’t asking that we control our anger, they aren’t asking that we change our behavior, that we treat each other more respectfully, that we try to be nicer, they only want you to shout something they feel appropriate when you feel like shouting. They don’t care about the package, just the gift-wrap. They don’t advocate peace, they don’t care if you speak with hate, they want only to change the exact words, as if the words are what make discourse hateful or distasteful. They think the avoidance of certain words is gonna signal an education. Humbug! It’s the words that you use, not the ones you don’t use that show what you know. It’s trivial for us to hurt your feelings with the squeaky cleanest of words; it’s also trivial for us to tell us we love you with the most vulgar profanity. Some instances it even adds a little bit of fun to the love. People are just wrong.

The message is the message.
